Location: Cumbria
The brief for a substantial gate and railing project at Brackenrigg – a private residence in the hear of the Lake Distirct - was originally inspired by Woodburn Bridge which had long been admired by the client.
Chris wanted to put a more natural feel to the design and - as the location is set amongst woodland - used leaf form to create a rhythm of shape in the railings. The single woodland gate design is based on the skeletal canopy of trees with crossing branches.
The project was part of a large-scale landscape development and involved Chris one again collaborating with award-winning dry stone waller Andy Louden.
Brackenrigg received a Pinnacle Award from the Dry Stone Walling Association that recognizes the quality of the bespoke architectural metalwork within the project.
