Client: Ruskin Museum
Location: Coniston
Chris was asked to design the entrance gates to the popular museum to create a special and welcoming first impression for visitors. The design is based on a traditional field gate which are a regular sight in the fields of the Lake District. To give a contemporary twist, they have been constructed using t-sections that have been split and forged into the ram’s head and shepherds crooks. They also feature pierced copper signage panels which continues the connection with the Coniston copper mines.
