Chris was commissioned to design and build a new footbridge to form part of an ‘access for all’ scheme creating a pathway looping around a section of the River Kent. The bridge has an 18m span and is 1.5m wide and was built using steel and mild steel. The design is inspired by the old wood turning mill which once sat at Steveley Mill Yard and the form of wood shavings and the natural curl and lines within wood.
